Welcome to Strömsberg´s ironworks

It’s a long time since iron was manufactured
here in Strömsberg. After almost 300
years of dust and thunder from the blast
furnace and hammers, everything went
silent in 1920, when production was shut
down.
Today, the whitewashed ironworks is
idyllic. At the dam you still see the industrial
buildings, the workers’ houses and the
manor. Here the glittering riverwater stops
for a while, before it flows on to the Baltic
see. In the middle of the pond the river encircles
a welcoming park, made for a picnic.
Strömsberg has preserved all parts of the
ironworks. The old workers’ houses also look
like they used to, but are modernized.
