After almost 300<br \/>\nyears of dust and thunder from the blast<br \/>\nfurnace and hammers, everything went<br \/>\nsilent in 1920, when production was shut<br \/>\ndown.<br \/>\nToday, the whitewashed ironworks is<br \/>\nidyllic. At the dam you still see the industrial<br \/>\nbuildings, the workers\u2019 houses and the<br \/>\nmanor. Here the glittering riverwater stops<br \/>\nfor a while, before it flows on to the Baltic<br \/>\nsee. In the middle of the pond the river encircles<br \/>\na welcoming park, made for a picnic.<br \/>\nStr\u00f6msberg has preserved all parts of the<br \/>\nironworks.
